The joint doctoral programme of the Roche Institute of Human Biology and the ETH Zurich Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering trains doctoral researchers in human model systems and translational bioengineering to tackle the medical challenges of the future.
The Bio-Engineering Systems for Therapeutics (BEST) postdoc programme in Basel was jointly created by the ETH Zurich Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering and the Roche Pharma Research and Early Development department to advance the development and application of bioengineering in translational medicine.
On 29 January, the two joint programmes of ETH Zurich and Roche kicked off the seminar series «Next-Gen Lunch and Learn» providing opportunities for scientific exchange and networking for scientists and fellows from Institute of Human Biology, pRED and D-BSSE. On a guided tour to the D-BSSE Single Cell and Lab Automation facilities led by Thomas Horn the young scientists learned about the many resources available for their research.
On 5 July the ETH Zurich Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering and Roche’s Institute of Human Biology launch the joint Basel-based doctoral programme for Translational Engineering of Biological Systems! The programme's goal is to train the world’s best young researchers to tackle difficult translational challenges and develop the next generation of human model systems. Check the eligibility criteria, take a look at the different research projects and submit your application!
