Roche Institute of Human Biology
The Roche Institute of Human Biology (IHB) was established to harness and advance the use of human model systems in drug discovery and development, as well as personalised medicine. With close ties to academia and Roche Pharmaceutical Research and Early Development (pRED), we are uniquely positioned to unlock organoids’ transformative potential for the benefit of patients.
Our vision is to incubate big and bold ideas and creative organoid technologies that can translate into drug development for the benefit of patients. We seek to advance the field by driving collaborations across a network of partners, sharing data and tools, and amplifying the community’s contributions.

ETH Zurich Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering
The mission of the Department of Biosystems Science and Engineering (D-BSSE) of ETH Zurich is the understanding, rational design and programming of complex biological systems from the nanoscale up to whole organisms. The department advances basic and applied biological sciences with the overall goal of translating its research into biomedical and industrial applications, and promoting the development of new processes and products in the biotech, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. To maximise the impact of this ambitious endeavour, the department is located in the life sciences capital of Europe: Basel. In collaboration with partners from industry, hospitals and other academic institutions, the Basel location facilitates research applications in the emerging fields of precision medicine and personalised health, molecular systems engineering and data science. D-BSSE offers a thriving multicultural work and study environment for students, scientists and entrepreneurs.
